FAQ

The weather has been getting colder these past two days, and I feel short of breath, have chest tightness, chest pain, and high blood pressure. Do I need to return for an early checkup?

It depends on the symptoms. As the weather gets colder, blood vessels are more likely to contract. If you feel that your wheezing does not improve after resting, you do not have to return to the doctor early. But you may need to sleep with a higher pillow at night. It depends on the symptoms!

Why does water accumulate in the heart?

Is it pericardial effusion or pulmonary effusion? Generally, there is no such thing as hydrocardia, but it is possible that blood accumulates in the heart and cannot be pumped out. If this is the case, it is because of cardiac weakness and may also be caused by increased peripheral vascular resistance, such as high blood pressure.

I walk for 30 minutes every day, and recently I can run about 150 meters. Is this okay as long as I don't feel tired?

Just don’t feel tired. Exercise depends on your personal endurance!

I would like to ask if taking diuretics for too long will have any adverse effects on the body?

Diuretics help to excrete excess water from the body. Everyone reacts differently to the drug. Some people do not experience any side effects, while others become thirsty and have uric acid problems. However, you cannot stop taking diuretics on your own. If you experience dry skin and thirst, it may mean that your body is not hydrated enough. You can discuss reducing the dosage of the drug with your doctor during your follow-up visit, but you cannot stop taking the drug on your own.
